AS Pride Month draws to a close, Tarleton Academy is celebrating a special moment for its school community after hosting its 1st ever Pride Festival with other secondary schools across the Endeavour Learning Trust.

The event brought together more than 50 students from Tarleton Academy, Ormskirk School, Wellfield Academy and Burscough Priory Academy, alongside Tarleton's own LGBT+ group, for a day of celebration and connection.

Students visited a range of stalls offering education, support and fun, including a photo booth, information and signposting, coaster making, festival glitter, merchandise, and badge and keyring making.

Scott Parker, Headteacher of Tarleton Academy, welcomed everyone with a speech to open the festival. David Clayton, CEO of Endeavour Learning Trust, attended the event and saw students from across the trust taking part in activities, building friendships and making plans to meet again.

A raffle and merchandise sale on the day raised £251.70 for the memorial garden fund in memory of Ben Williams, a former Tarleton student who sadly passed away last year.

Scott Parker, Headteacher of Tarleton Academy, said:- "We were incredibly proud to host our very 1st Endeavour wide Pride Festival. It was a powerful reminder of what happens when young people come together in an environment where everyone feels safe to be themselves. Throughout the day, our students celebrated diversity, built new friendships and demonstrated our shared values of belonging, togetherness and individuality at their very best. We are immensely proud of every student who took part and of the staff who made the day possible."
