Resident Doreen
RESIDENTS at Parklands Care Home in Southport enjoyed a visit from three adorable guinea pigs.
The special visitors, Toffee, Rosemary and Mildred, were brought into the Sandstone Care Group home by Helen Gillingham, who rescues and rehomes guinea pigs and currently cares for around 30 of the animals at home.
Residents were delighted to meet and gently stroke the friendly guinea pigs, with many reminiscing about pets they had owned over the years.
Sarah-Jane Gashi, home manager at Parklands Care Home, said:- "It was wonderful to see the joy that these tiny animals brought to our residents. There were smiles from the moment they arrived, and it was lovely hearing people share memories of the pets they had throughout their lives. We're incredibly grateful to Helen for taking the time to visit us and for the amazing work she does in rescuing and rehoming guinea pigs. The visit was a huge success and 1 that our residents will be talking about for a long time, we can’t wait to welcome them back."
